Andy Serkis on Star Wars: The Force Awakens Rumors

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Actor Andy Serkis, Planet of the Apes, spoke on some of the rumors concerning who exactly he plays in the upcoming Star Wars movie. Andy did confirm that it was his character speaking in the teaser trailer for the film. He was pretty careful when giving specifics about his character saying:

“I have to be very careful about how I answer these questions. The character …” he says, followed by a long pause. “He’s been through some stuff.”

He added to his silence demeanor on the character saying:

“I can’t say a single thing about that. I’m sorry!” Serkis says with a massive grin. “These things will all come out in the fullness of time, I promise.”

Andy went on to answer rumors about the actor playing multiple characters saying:

“No that’s not true at all. I can say I only play one character.”

The actor then went on to talk about his heads up on the trailer from Director JJ Abrams and Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy saying:

“Director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy told me, ‘You’re all over the trailer,’ but I didn’t know what that meant,” Serkis says. “I thought, ‘Oh great, they’re using the voice of the character I play for the trailer. That’s fantastic.’ Not thinking what that would actually translate into.”

Rumble #1 Comic Review

Image Comics has presented a brand new story for us comic lovers to delve into this week titled Rumble. Written by John Arcudi, B.P.R.D.: Hell on Earth, and drawn by James Harren, Abe Sapien: The Devil Does Not Jest, and Dave Stewart, The Walking Dead, Rumble is a story about the scarecrow warrior god, Rathraq, returns to wreak havoc in two separate worlds. One world, what seems like a wasteland filled with dangerous creatures waiting to feel Rathraq’s blade, and the other world, a current day take on a large city covered in graffiti and darkness. The first bit of action we see in this first issue is set in a bar and involves the Rathraq and the bartender, Rufus. Every bit of the fight is filled with intense action and with every choice the characters make during the fight causes an instant reaction, making the story that much more page grippingly intriguing.

The story lacks a story right now but that just builds a bit of intrigue to go with all of the colorful violence seen in this first issue of the story. Although we haven’t learned a lot about the individual characters themselves, the action, the colors, and the mystery behind all of Rumble, we believe his is a definite must-buy. We very much look forward to what we’re going to see in the upcoming issues.

“How many times can you say ‘you’re wearing a funny costume’ with the tights and stuff? That’s been going on for 20 years now. Yes, we all know that superheroes are damaged individuals. Maybe we need to see a happy superhero?”

Burton went on to talk about the Batman films he was involved in saying:

“I remember Batman getting so much flak and criticism at the time for being too dark and now 20-30 years later, it now looks like a light-hearted romp. It’s such a strange thing to go through.”
