Shaun Of The Dead Stage Show

A play based off of Edgar Wright’s Shaun of the Dead is currently being developed in England by Almost Legal Productions. The play, which got a thumbs up from the original movie’s Director Edgar Wright, will feature several musical numbers and will also include some audience participation as well.

Here is a description of the play:

Life is going nowhere for Shaun. He spends his life in his local pub, with his best mate Ed, has issues with his Mum and step-dad and things aren’t running too smoothly with his girlfriend Liz. When Liz dumps him, Shaun finally decides to get his life in order. He must win back her heart, repair his relationship with his mum and face up to his responsibilities. Unfortunately, there is a slight problem with the world being taken over by Zombies. For the newly inspired Shaun, this is just another obstacle. In the face of a full scale ZOMBIE EPIDEMIC, armed with a cricket bat and his best mate with a spade, Shaun & Ed go to rescue Liz, her friends, mum and grudgingly his step-dad, and take them to the safest most secure place he knows.

Belief from Simon Pegg and Working Title together with Universal Pictures is about to put Almost Legal Productions on the map. They cut their teeth with several of the most difficult to stage productions. This has enabled ALP to work extensively on adapting one of the most all out zombie UK comedy favourites to stage. With audience participation, goody bags with all the kit required to take part, songs and dances, ALP are set to bring you life after death!

Sam Raimi Says Spider-Man 3 Was “Awful”

According to a recent interview with Nerdist podcast, Director Sam Raimi talked about the number of problems with Sony’s Spider-Man 3 film. Raimi started to talk about the problems in the interview saying:

“Working in that big budget arena, with so much at stake, with much beloved characters that Stan Lee created, people really hold them so dear to them that you don’t want to mess up and I messed up with that third Spider-Man. People hated me for years. They still hate me for it.

“… It’s a movie that just didn’t work very well. I tried to make it work, but I didn’t really believe in all the characters, and so that can’t be hidden from people who loved Spider-Man. If the director doesn’t love something, it’s wrong of them to make it when so many other people love it.”

Raimi went on to talk about the second installment in his Spider-Man movies saying:

“I think [raising the stakes] was the thinking going into it, and I think that’s what doomed us. I should’ve just stuck with the characters and the relationships and progressed them to the next step and not tried to top the bar. I think that was my mistake.”

In another interview with Chris Hardwick, Raimi admitted that he wouldn’t call Spider-Man 3 bad, but said “awful” would probably be a better word to describe it.
